Has it been a while since you’ve been scuba diving? Do you feel like your scuba skills and knowledge are a bit rusty? The Refresher is just the what you need. It reacquaints you with diving so that you're back to feeling comfortable in the underwater world in less than a day.
This is particularly useful in Queensland, where local legislation requires divers need to complete a diving refresher if they have been out of the water for some time - pertaining to their experience (logbook as proof).
Here with Go Dive, to accommodate the state legislation, to dive with us you do need to show proof of recent diving relevent to your experience level. If you fall outside these timelines, you would need to participate in a refresher program prior to booking on our regular dive days/trips.
You need to complete a refresher if you fall into the categories below:
The Fun Part
Brush up on your scuba knowledge and skills. Improve your diving ability, and get your scuba gear ready for your next scuba vacation or diving holiday.
You go over scuba knowledge you learned during your initial training with the online eLearning program designed for PADI or Non-PADI divers.
For PADI Divers, the online program is called the 'Re-Activate' for other qualification agencies, it is termed the 'Scuba Tune-Up'. The vital information covered in both, however as non-PADI divers may not be familiar with PADI/SSI/NAUI tables, the information in the Scuba Tune Up program is broader to com=ver the use of tables, but not brand specific. You will cover:
Following the complettion of the online theory, you will meet your divemaster at our vessel a little earlier than normal, to review the knowledge, and gear assemly & disassembly procedures. After this you will head to North Stradbroke Island Marine Zone, where your first dive will be under the supervision of your divemaster, revisiting skills and competencies in a calm, sheltered dive site. After the dive is complete, you have the second dive to get the rest f the kinks out, and enjoy the marine life!
This course provides you with the online training program, your double dive aboard DiveQuest and your Divemaster for the day.
