The Cagayan islands are on top of the Cagayan ridge that has a length of 500 km and a width of 30 km. The ridge connects the Cagayan islands with the Tubbataha Reef as well as Borneo and emerged from extinct volcanoes thousands of years ago. While parts of it sank again, declined, or eroded, corals grew there over the years up to 100m high.
The archipelago, which is 120 km away from Sipalay, consists of 31 islands. Only a few of them are inhabited. As all islands are flat and overgrown with bushes and palm trees, the region is often compared to the Maldives. From December until April the climate is less humid than between May and November while the temperature is high all over the year.
A scenic flight like no other...
Your final transfer from Sipalay is in a 6 seater Cessna aircraft to Cagayancillo. This incredible transfer lasts 25minutes and is truly breathtaking.
The Diving
Cagayancillo is an underwater ridge sculpted by extinct volcanoes that end in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park. It is an incredible destination for divers who love walls, corals, and pelagic fishes and don’t want to stay on the boat overnight.
Departing April 2024
We depart Brisbane on April 14th, stay for the night in Manila, enjoying breakfast at the hotel before flying to Dumaguete. We then transfer to Sipalay Beach Resort for another night before our awesome scenic flight to Cagayancillo Island. Staying at Eco Diving Eco-Resort for the next 7 nights and enjoying all the diving and island time you can.
Our return transfers are more direct without stopovers on the path homeward to Brisbane, arriving early the next day.
We always recommend ensuring you have at least day or two either side available so you can pack at leisure & relax while unpacking before returning to work on the other side!
Easy Divers Eco Resort
Easy Diving Eco-Resort was completed in January 2020. Glamping Tents are equipped with very high-quality beds and mattresses. Connected to the power grid during the day, at night, Solar Power system kicks in to supply our needs. The accommodation can be booked for king-size or twin beds and single occupancy is also available.
The eco-resort will give you an absolutely wonderful, heavenly experience in an environment that still represents the original Philippines. Since the islands are remote, you will have a slightly smaller menu with simple but always freshly prepared meals.
Nevertheless, the proper service from Easy Diving is guaranteed. Back to the roots, but in style! Alcoholic beverages are also available but not included in the Safari price.
An upgrade to brick bungalow is available with Air Conditioning - please enquire on pricing and availability.

We will do our best to match you with an accommodation buddy to suit of the same sex. Many new dive buddy pairs start on our trips! You dont have to spend every waking moment with your roommate - there is much to explore outside, hang out in the lounge, swim, snorkel, read, or a favourite - just chill!
Some divers also like to upgrade their accommodation to sole occupant. This is also totally normal and acceptable!
