RESCUE DIVER Prevent problems, and manage them if they occur.

The Go Dive Rescue Diver course is known as the most challenging, yet deeply rewarding course in the PADI recreational diving suite of courses.  You will learn what to do in dangerous situations, how to search for a missing diver and when you find them, how to bring them back to the surface safely.  You will also further develop your recognition of problems before or as they occur, and associated prevention and management skills.  While the course is both demanding and serious, it is also one of the most enjoyable and fulfilling.  You will be laughing with your fellow students one moment and then responding to a challenging scenario the next.  Once certified, you will be a better diver, a much sought after buddy, and significantly better equipped to help others if needed.

You'll develop your skills by completing theory, skill development and practice in the pool, further skill development and exercises during a shore diving day, and finally a boat diving day to complete residual exercise activity and some realistic capstone scenarios.

Theory Evening

We will review Rescue theory and ensure successful completion of the Rescue Manual Knowledge Reviews as well as complete the Rescue Diver Exam.  You will also be given guidance for completing an Emergency Assistance Plan (EAP) and instruction for developing your own EAP.

Pool Day – (Confined Water)

A long but fun day in confined water consisting of skill development, role playing and scenario responses preparing you for the Open Water days ahead.

Shore Diving Day – (Open Water)

We will conduct skill development through exercises and scenarios in shallow water from the beach/shore as well as some deeper water activities.

Double Boat Dive Day – (Open Water)

We will do some rescue exercises in deep water using a boat as the diving platform, conduct familiarisation with boat rescue and safety equipment, as well as conduct the final capstone rescue scenarios.  You will also submit your EAP for evaluation on this day.
