The PADI Rescue Diver Course is designed to build your confidence as a diver in any situation.
The PADI Rescue Diver course is a performance-based course and can be broken down into Knowledge Development and Practical Skills/Application.
The course begins when you receive notification from PADI that your Online ‘Touch’ Program has been assigned to you. This manual can be downloaded onto your touchscreen device (Smartphone/iPad/ Tablet) and you can then complete the manual whilst not requiring internet connection.
The interactive program has 5 distinct sections, complete with videos to assist your understanding. At the end of each section is a knowledge review to complete before moving to the next section.
The topics you will cover in your own time include:
After successful completion of the theory and knowledge reviews you will complete the Rescue Diver Exam. Once completed, and uploaded to PADI, you will receive a completion certificate to bring to the evening orientation session.
Our evening session prior to any in-water skills, will include:
Here, you will apply the knowledge you have learned in the touch program as you develop your skills in the shallow confined water of our training pool.
This day is challenging but it is also one of the most rewarding and fun days you will have in training. You will begin by learning and practicing individual skills for dealing with a range of potential rescue scenarios.
By practicing these skills in the pool first, divers take huge confidence into the next section of the course and on future dives.
On the last training day you will apply the knowledge and skills you have expanded on even further - applying that to
‘real life’scenarios. All of this sounds serious but it is designed to give you valuable knowledge, confidence and it is a load of fun!!We conduct the Ocean training at a shore dive site suitable regarding tides and weather, ensuring you have ample time to practice the required skills, and repeat, practicing any you wish more time with.
Debriefing, completion of logbooks and a hearty meal afterwards, most divers head home for a well-deserved rest after a big day in the salt and sun.
PADI offers a variety of home-study materials for the Rescue Diver course - this program utilizes the PADI eLearning 'Touch' program which requires web connection to get started, and then can be proceeded without internet connection until completed. SubmersibleHuman will also provide First Aid Kits, Oxygen Kits & Training Defibrillators to use a physical aids during the course.
This course runs periodically, with a minimum of 3 student divers to run. Tides will affect the shore diving day location & timing.
Does this sound like the kind of training you are interested in?
