We are proud to partner with OceanSense Freediving to offer Certified Freediving courses at GoDive. Freediving is currently one of the fastest growing recreational activities around the world. Whether you are a seasoned diver looking for a new challenge or someone who is just starting out, the course will help you safely explore your limits while learning more about how your body works underwater in one breath.
A Freediving Course with the OceanSense experts is your first step towards exploring the open ocean, on one breath. You will be given the knowledge and techniques to truly discover what you are capable of, and what your body is built to do.
The objective of the course is to develop the following skills:
Static breath hold of minimum 1:30 minutes
Dynamic apnea of 25m-35m length
A constant weight dive to 10m-16m depth
A competent pool and ocean rescue
Get your PADI/SSI freediving certification with OceanSense Freediving!
The two day Freediving course consists of three main phases to help you learn the fundamental Freediving techniques.
Your instructor will guide you through the following;
Day 1:
9:00 am to 4:00 pm - Approx
Theory of freediving
Breath and Meditation workshop
Yoga for Freediving
Pool skills session:
Static apnea
Dynamic apnea
Rescue technique
Day 2:
7:00 am to 1:00 pm - Approx
Enjoy a half-day expedition out to the blue open ocean to dive to a minimum depth of 10m, where you will explore the natural wildlife and practice your newfound skills including:
Free immersion and constant weight freedives
Buddy procedures
Recreational wildlife exploration of the area
Open water rescue drill
Offered at various dive areas of interest, if you are looking for a Brisbane freediving course then we have options close to you on both the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.
To enroll in a Freediver course you must:
Be 12 years old or older. (Conditions apply)
Be able to swim 200 metres.
Have no medical conditions related to this activity.
No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required.
