The Republic of the Philippines lies off the south-east coast of the Asian mainland. It is an archipelago of 7,107 islands and islets, set in deep blue waters which contain some of the richest marine life in the world. With so many islands, the Philippines have a wealth of opportunities for diving and snorkelling. Each island offers something very unique.
For a diver, the Philippines has just about everything one could ask for. Thought by many to be the apex of the coral triangle, diving in the Philippines offers a wide variety of marine environments to choose from. Dive on steep walls and offshore pinnacles, critter hunt and night dive on coastal reefs, wreck dive on a sunken Japanese fleet, be surrounded by pelagics or take the opportunity to get up close to the World's largest fish - the whale shark. Whatever your experience level - from novice to technical and rebreather divers - the Philippines has a suitable environment for you
This excursion will have us visiting two distinct locations in the Phillipines - Dauin and Cabilao
The SEA EXPLORERS PADI 5* CDC Dive Center is located inside the Pura Vida Beach and Dive Resort. We offer a very well equipped facility with our own office, small retail shop, air-conditioned classroom and three storerooms for our guest’s equipment directly on the beach. There are about 30 excellent & exciting divesites that offer world-class macro and night dives – a paradise for underwater photographers. Apo Island, Masaplod Norte Sanctuary and Dauin are also excellent for snorkelers. And last but not least most divesites are as close as a short walk from the dive center to max. 30 min by boat.
The triangular shaped 7.2 square kilometer island is situated at the west side of Bohol, facing Cebu Island. Cabilao consists of five barangays (villages), Talisay, Cambaquiz, Looc, Pantudlan, and Cabacongan. Its about 5200 friendly inhabitants survive on fishing, tourism, some small agriculture and weaving of bags. The island is the home to Bohol’s only natural lake, Lake Lanao, near the barangay Pantudlan, which also serves as a small bird-sanctuary for passing by migrant birds.
The perfect place to slow things down combined with world class diving. Pygmy seahorses, critters as well as hard and soft corals of various species have made that island a must-see, especially for scuba divers. At present, there are two marine protected areas (no-take zones) around the island.
